Member Spotlight


For the month of July 2013 we have selected to honor Sister Chelsea General as the ‘Spotlight’ Member of the Month. Chelsea is the daughter of   Sam and Anja General and the granddaughter of  Sam and Cherry Newman.  

Chelsea General was born in Ft.Benning, Georgia. She is a 17 year-old senior attending Captain John L. Chapin high school in El Paso , Texas. She is on the on the Debate, the Rugby, the Golf, and the Track teams at her school. However, her favorite sports are basketball and football. Her favorite sports teams are the NFL Baltimore Ravens and the Arizona Cardinals, as well as the NBA Knicks and the Mavericks. She's had the experience of moving around from coast to coast, living in different environments, and meeting many new people and friends in various duty stations Because of her father's occupation as a United States Army soldier. After graduation, She plans intend to return to Florida and enroll in Florida A&M University whereshewill major in Music Production and minor in public relations. She hopes to be apart of the "Marching 100" band while attending the University. In the future, after graduating from FAMU. She hopes to become a very successful and well known music producer and/or public speaker.Her biggest goal in life is to make a change for the better of the world.

It’s Vacation Bible School time. This week of bible studies, games, crafts, and fitness activities will began on Sunday, June 9th, 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. and continue Monday, June 10th through Friday, June 14th, from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. An exciting time awaits each family member. This year’s theme: FACING FEAR, TRUSTING GOD, 2 TIMOTHY 1:7.

Father’s Day will be observed June 16th during the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Make plans to be a part of this grand day of praise as we honor the fathers of Summerville.

The monthly Business Conference June for  will be held on July 2, at 7:00 p.m. TAll members are encouraged to attend.


Holy Communion will be observed on  July 7, 2013 @ 4 p.m.

The annual Men Cookout will take place Saturday, July 13, at the Historical Fellowship Hall.
